Baby casting kits

  • Hi,

I always wanted a 3d impression of my little ones. I found a company called Borrowed moments who did mine. They are based in Cornwall. I like most thought doing it my self would be a nightmare. They also sell the casting and impression kits as well. They told me their kits came with complete instructions and hints and tips. They also have telephone and email support.

I am so glad I found them as memories are priceless.

The professional ones use dental alginate to make the firts mold because it sets in seconds. It also changes colour as you are mixing, so you know when it is done.

I had my daughters done when she was 7 weeks old by an actual company who come to your house. It was excellent because they had to do nearly 8 attempts for a flat hand (missy kept on screwing her hand up). They come back on 3 different days so missy didn't get to wound up. Although it cost me more than doing my own, we would have used all of the moulding up just trying to get a hand.

Just done a search on ebay and THIS looks like the best deal to do your own home version because there is enough to play with.

Edit: Just noticed that the seller was the one who done my home visit :P

I did one of these myself for both my children. The one I had came with a box-frame. I have both their hands, in plaster of paris, painted bronze. They look great and I'm so glad I did them, even though I resented giving up the time when I was so busy! They were both done at about four months old. Highly recommend.
