if people posted a great tip and then said if you use my link I will make money please pm me for the link, we could decide for ourselves

or people could post a deal in the correct board with a non profit making link and then say, I can make money from this please visit the referral board for the affiliated link

I think you are referring to people's signature?


I'm guessing (and its only a guess) that anything in a signature is assumed to be affiliated to that person - the overiding issue here is to not mislead people into  clicking on a poor deal.


All of the spammers don't seem to care about the quality of deal, they just say "click here its great honest" and usually its cack.  Which is annoying.

Martin is encourging an affiliate link ONLY if it makes no difference to the deal, in the way he does with his emails - and by linking into the referrers area MSEers will understand that the poster is getting a commission.
