Hi there, what happened is this, We submit our work online, and so far have done 2 essays and a portfolio.
Now I submitted the first 2 ok I thought but found out yesterday on my first day back they claim I never submitted them therefore have failed them. Also tried submitting my portfolio and it wouldnt let me saying my files were empty and I told IT.
Got an email back today stating theres nothing wrong with our network so it must be user error and I have lost marks because of late submission
Also was called into tutors office and told told I am only marked down for 2 lectures since I began and this was a polite(yeah right a rude tone of voice) warning I said I have been to every lecture apartnfrom the final week and was basically hinted at lying, and they couldnt understand my problem as they were just "concerned"

Print them out, put them on the tutors desk, tell them to mark them0

You should have receieved some sort of receipt to show you sent them surely?0

Unless attendance is manadtory, it is unlikely you will fail for not showing up. If you are required to sign a register to prove attendance, then it is your responsibility to ensure this is done. I would rather call a student in who isn't on the register to find that they simply haven't signed it than not call a student in and fail to spot a potetial problem. I must admit I read it as a concern that they called you in - they have no record, they make a check - you say it is fine, all sorted.
As far as the assignments go, I would ask them to run through the mechanics of how to submit online just so you are sure of how to do it next time. I would ask if there is a way of checking future assignments have been submitted and recieved - often these systems send an e-mail reply to you on successful submission. For your portfolio I would ask IT if there a file format you should use, if there are any compatibility issues with the machines, if you can submit a copy burnt onto disc or USB key or a hard copy as ringo suggests. I know it's hard not to go in fighting, but from bitter experience I know it won't get you anywhere. Look at how you can stop the problems happening again in future if you can and showing willing to identify and solve the issues will work in your favour.
You should only leave if you want to leave, if you are unhappy with the course, or consider it is not right for you or have personal circumstances that require you to. You should not cut off your nose to spite your face, only you will be hurt in the long run. best of luck cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -

Raise it with your tutor - if they're any good they'll help you to sort it out. Also as someone else said, if you do not get an email receipt or if the system doesn't support it then go find out what the appeals / complaint procedure is and go through that route.
I walked out of uni (Brunel) in year 2 because someone stole my thesis paper and frigged it with their own name. The person was friendly with the IT staff so managed to rummage around our home directories and snag a copy. The appeals process failed miserably because the university admin was run by a bunch of old farts with the bearucracy of Vogons, so I quit. Turned out that I earn more than my peers, have better skills, have better job satisfaction and am better equipped for life. Ironic eh?
"Unqualified" tube train drivers get paid more than graduates do (average) after 10 years.£8k to pay off before Jan 2011! Was 28k to pay off by Jan 2010 though so I'm happy

Do you mean it sounds familiar to a certain poster and his 'fellow student' at Chester Uni who both have lots of accomodation and Job Centre Plus issues? 'One of them' had this very same problem a while ago.
If you do then I agree. Someone is playing silly b*****s!!!
If not, then I haven't a clue what you are on about. :rotfl:0 -

:rotfl: That would be the one.
Of course, I'm sure lots of students have problems with submitting assignments. What are the chances of two posters here both having trouble with two assignments and trouble with not having signed in to the appropriate number of lectures.0 -
Yes. The style and story are far too close to the other angry little poster last week.
Maybe they didn't like what they heard last time so are having another go.0
