Holy !!!!
TFT is a thin film transistor it is the technology behind LCD tv's and lcd monitors. originaly LCD monitors were refered to as TFT monitors now most use the LCD name.
So if you buy an LCD TV your getting a TFT TV
As for buying a LCD tv/monitor I wouldn't unless you buy an HD screen even then the resolution isnt fantastic compared to monitors. unless your buying bargain bin LCD tv's most of them have a digital tuner built in so you can receive freeview infact you may find that it isnt mentioned much now as it is expected that they have digital tuners built in. you will also find PC inputs on most mid range tv's0 -
RE:Currys----I think they meant they all show a picture.
Dont for get the all important outdoor aerial feed and wall bracket to save space from the dressing table area..... Also get one in the colour you like. The Samsung range do Black/White/Pink .. Go take a look and have that all important listen too. RE: TFT Used on laptop screens and they have that soft squishy feel to the screen and the picture distorts under the pressure of you touch. Go for an LCD in the bedroom.0 -
As Little John said, LCD display technology is just another name for TFT display technology. There is no difference. They both use LCDs to display the picture and they both use TFTs to drive the LCD.
The only difference seems to be marketing, the term "LCD" seems to be used more for the TV market and "TFT" for the computer display market. But whether it has a tuner in it or not they're still both LCD and TFT.
Surprisingly, the Currys salesman was quite accurate."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
