I recently received my new Talkmobile sim card
not had a chance to get my phone unlocked yet
but thought i would try sim any way now i am getting message
"enter subsidy password"
what does this mean and what should i do

It means its locked....presumably your phone is a Motorola?
A subsidy password will allow any sim to be used in the phone - you normally need to buy them....try googling "subsidy password"
