My husband and I are organising a fundraising event in the shape of a rock night to take place on 10TH DECEMBER at The Exchange in EDINBURGH. We are also organising a raffle and hopefully pull off a bit of an auction as well.
These events are organised in order to help raise funds for Simpsons Special Care Babies (https://www.sscb.org). The reason behind our fundraising is simply down to the memory of our two beautiful daughters Robyn and Erin. We lost them at 36 weeks in August 2000 due to acute twin to twin transfusion syndrome. There was absolutely nothing that anybody could have done to save them but the unit and the staff who dealt with us made what very little time we had with our daughters special.
If anyone would like to make a donation, you can do so via our website https://www.rockinfortots.co.uk. Alternatively, if you know of any big organisations in Edinburgh that are worth approaching then please let us know! Raffle tickets are now on sale
We are hoping to have 5 or 6 top quality local bands play at the rock night with a club on until 3am (so not for the lighthearted!).
All proceeds from these events will go directly to the charity. If you look on our website you will see details of what these funds may go towards - it hasnt been agreed which piece of equipment it will be but as soon as we know for definite we will update the site.

Recorded an interview with Radio Forth on Monday so listen out for that if you listen to that station (probably aired in September).
Got word that we are getting a hamper from Harvey Nics for the raffle so some great prizes for the raffle. Auction hopefully up and running end September/beginning October.

Due to our publicity raising the awareness of the charity/need for the brain monitor - the radio station who carried out our interview has donated the entire amount remaining for the brain monitor!! Great news!
It seems we are now back to funding a CPAP Ventilator - this is a non-invasive ventilator which has been on trial within the neo natal unit. As it is non-invasive, it means no injury to the tiny tubes of these precious babies.
TICKETS FOR THE ROCK NIGHT are now available - if you go to the website there is a link if you wish to attend. Tickets are available for 14+. £10 each for 6 bands and club - bargain if you love live music.
The auction will be starting in the next few days/week so keep an eye out if you wish to get your hands on a signed Gordon Ramsay cook book, signed Long Way Round book/DVD, signed Iron Maiden biography, hibs football, signed ray wilson cd, signed Y&T CD, Fish bundle...
We are selling raffle tickets at the moment so if you are in the Edinburgh area and wish to either buy some tickets or help sell them, please get in touch.

If you know of anybody who thinks they would like to come to this evening - £10 is a good price for 6 bands and a club - then you best let them know to get their skates on. Tickets are selling from band members, The eXchange, TicketWeb and TicketScotland now and we expect to sell many more and also on the night although as we have had a lot of publicity with this fundraiser not sure how many will be available on the night.
Auction is still going and we are going to be in receipt of a Led Zeppelin biography signed by Robert Plant and also his most recent CD also signed by the man himself - apparently doesnt sign much these days at all so we are very lucky. Gordon Ramsay cookbook will be up for auction in the next few days hopefully so any big fans keep your eyes on the site.0 -
Well, the rock night is this Saturday so if anybody comes along from this forum I hope you have a great night! :j
We have a few items up for auction at the moment including a signed Long Way Round book and a signed Kitchen Heaven (Gordon Ramsay).
We are also going to be auctioning a trip for 2 to the top of the FORTH RAIL BRIDGE!!! Not for the faint hearted but the views will be amazing. :snow_laug
Keep checking the site for updates and once we have everything tied up which probably wont be until after Christmas, we will post a final figure.0
