do the older ones still have my little pony stamped on them or just hasbro?
Older ones tend to have hasbro, Made in Hong Kong and the date etc. If you have any that are made in Mexico, Greece, Macau or Italy then those are rarer and are often very different to the usual Hong Kong made ones.
The first ponies were produced early 80's, they were standard "earth ponies", nothing fancy. They were called the collector ponies because of their poses. In very good condition even a common pony could be rare.
If you PM me a link to your auction Ill have a look if anything stands out in your photos.0 -

Haha, I am a bit gothy so you are spot on there. It started 10 years ago, I collected Care Bears at the time (my mum wouldn't buy me one when I was a kid!), when I was buying at boot sales I'd pick up ponies as well and sell them on to raise money to buy bears. Thats how I fell into the My Little Pony community. I don't collect them, I just sold them.
Of course, this was back in the day when prices were astronomical and I could sell a set of 3 pony babies for £250
In the end the Care Bear collection had to go (made £5,000 on them!!!) but I stayed in the pony community because I'd made such good friends there.0 -
That's a great link, but I can't remember the details clearly enough (old age!)
It was a standard one, I can't remember the symbol but the pony was either yellow or pale green, with blue or green hair, I think.
Don't waste too much time working it out, for all I know it's a moot point now
My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

A few dolls are worth £250.
What a load of old pony.
Pulliptears, I always thought you were a rock chick, not a doll collector.

In their wisdom the company only released certain ponies in certain countries, so you get lots of UK exclusives and variations. this being one:

Lots of money to be made if you know your ponies lol
A few of the newer ones do go for more, but nothing as significant as the originals.
