I posted this last week and did receive a few replies but unfortunately can't find the thread so sorry for posting again
basically we are selling our house to friends of our neighbours, they own their current home outright and are going to rent it out and are taking a mortgage to buy ours (I don't know how much of a mortgage as they won the lottery a few years ago £250k and paid their mortgage off) they are not dependent on a tenant to purchase ours.
They came to look at ours a couple of weeks before xmas and took a week to come back to us with an offer as they needed to sort their money out so they knew what they needed to borrow and what they could offer us.
We accepted their offer of £220k and when they came round to see us said, like us, they wanted to get a mortgage arranged and solicitors instructed before xmas so we could all enjoy xmas and then start afterwards, they said they had looked at a mortgage with their bank but were going to shop about to see if they could get a better deal (I think the arrangement fee was £1500 and they wanted a cheaper one)
So after xmas we all start things moving, I rang our buyers to check everything was fine as I now had to start paying out for searches and a valuation and they said it was all fine, we all have solicitors instructed and everything seems to be progressing, we personally had a bit of difficulty arranging a mortgage for the house we are purchasing but this is now sorted and our valuation of that property happened last week, we got our full mortgage offer yesterday
Up to last week, we had still not heard from their valuer so rang them to find out what was happening and they said everything was fine, couldn't wait to move and would chase it up
Our solicitor says everything is fine but I am still concerned, we have still not heard from our buyers valuer, even tho they have solicitors working for them
I spoke to my neighbour on Sunday who I know really well and she said that there is absolutely nothing to worry about, they can't wait to move and only got their mortgage approved last Friday, we are all planning to complete March 14th, she also told me they had had a couple of viewings on their house (as it is up for sale although they have said they will rent it if it doesn't sell) and had a second viewing booked for that afternoon and were saying if they sold it instead it would be great although it wouldn't hold anything up, they certainly don't need to sell it to buy ours.
I don't want to keep bothering our buyers as I'm worried we'll just get on their nerves and they may just pull out, my neighbour is a good friend and says I'm stressing over nothing there is no way they are going to pull out as they are really excited and can't wait to move, when we have phoned our buyers they are always keen to talk and I am sure they would start avoiding us if they were having problems.
Trouble is I can't rest until I know they have a mortgage in place and a valuation done on our house, I rung my solicitor yesterday and asked them to check with their solicitor (who is next door to ours!) the situation with their mortgage and asked them to let us know, I've not heard anything back yet
What should I do?, I don't want to put pressure on them but I'm also dealing with a dying mother at the moment and could do without the added stress
