Graduate Schemes

There is now recruitment going on all year for Lloyds and Barclays with recruitment and assessment run by Pareto Graduate Schemes. My friend went to the assessment day for Barclays and said it was very very tough.0

In general, graduate schemes recruit from September onwards towards December, although this varies from company to company and industry. Many of the bigger companies tend to follow this pattern, but not all. As an example, Investment Banks tend to take applications from September until before Christmas.
Remember it can take months to get from an application to a firm job offer as there are many stages in between (e.g. telephone interview, online tests etc). Graduate schemes are very difficult to get on and often there are only a handful of vacancies anyway. Getting from one stage to another is an achievement as they (companies) set high criteria and there is a lot of competition too. You should not be too downhearted if you receive a rejection. You are likely to receive many before you get the right job. I've had many as have my friends in the past. It is part and parcel of life!!
The reality is the graduate job market is very competitive. There will be thousands upon thousands of graduates in your position too.
More specifically to your question, your best bet is to look on certain graduate websites. It is difficult to tell which schemes are open unless you look at their specific websites. Some websites below which may be helpful are:
www.milkround.com (good for deadlines)
www.hobsons.co.uk
www.insidecareers.co.uk
Have a look at a thread I posted in a few months ago. It may be useful!
