This is exactly what I am complaining about.....inconsistency

I dont want to take the micky...I just want to use a 'Joey' coupon or two against my weekly shop. Some people can, some are politely refused and others have been made to feel like fools. This is unacceptable. If they dont take coupons against unpurchased (but stocked) products then they should clearly display the policy.

Well this isn't about Tesco as they are down in my estimation for a while now. It's abig thumbs up to Asda and their staff. I had a book full of coupons from the Co-op and asked the lady on the till if I could use them, she had to call another staff member who then went to the office to check, came back and said yes as long as it was reasonable i.e not using the whole book in one transaction and as long as they stocked the products.

She then looked through and found some out of date and tore them out leaving 3/4 of a page to be used and I spotted the next page with higher values that could all be used so we agreed on that = £7.20 I also had tokens for £8.00. This resulted in a £26.19 bill being reduced to £10.99.:money:

So as I said big thumbs up to them but very much bigger thumbs up to this site and the lovely people here who informed me:A . I used to throw coupons in the bin thinking that if I didn't want the product they were no value.

In my experience, if you use the self scan till at Tesco, you can scan coupons and not attract attention from supervisors etc. if you use no more than 4 coupons in any one go, do not use two of the same coupon and make sure that your coupons in total do not deduct more than 25% of your bill. Should be ok !

Someone above said that the self scan no longer works?

BlueP, I found waitrose to be good. And their reduced-to-clear items can be good (and reduced bogofs work). So you have found they are consistently good for coupon acceptance?
