Anything I'm interested in goes on my watch list & I wait to make a bid till the last few minutes before it ends. It helps to have a maximum bid in mind before I do anything as well.
So far no-one has conned a higher price out of me & I haven't had to report anyone, I have a feeling I've been lucky so far but that could end any time.Winnings

Exactly!! Naive Ebayer... evidently.
She only has 43 feedback, so is relatively new. I hope she does get a warning from Ebay so that she can learn now while she still has a chance. She has 8 items listed, relatively expensive ones, so lets hope they are removed too.... Then she will have wasted alot of money on fee's!I

Yes i often do this. But i tend to forget, and miss out completely. so i tend to put in a smaller bid...
for example:
I want an item... starting price 99p.... I bid £5.00 (but have a maximum bid of £10 in mind.... I come back just before the auction end.. then put in my final £10 bid..... But i do usually forget to do this, so thats why i always do a small emergency bid first. Quite often, when I'm lucky, i tend to get the item for the lower price anyways, so it works out okay
