That won't do any good as he/she was signed up to the policy over the phone.

arent all calls recorded for "training purposes" these days?
ask them to confirm when this policy was taken out, then ask them to dig up the recorded call that took place and provide you with a copy?

    would that work?

but OP claims they didnt agree...............

in which case onus is on barclaycard to prove that they did.....

or as mentioned ask for copy of recording
smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to.... ;)
  • When I first complained, they were very quick to say that all calls are recorded and they can easily listen to the conversation to confirm that they were in the right.
The way in which they told me this made me feel quite uncomfortable and for a few moments it made me doubt myself.
However, I know that I did not take out this policy so I said, “that’s great your recording will confirm that I am telling the truth“. I then asked if they could make me a copy.
Barclaycard quickly changed there position at this point. I was then told that calls are generally recorded for training purposes and therefore most recordings are not kept.
From where I am standing it seems to work like this. All calls are probably recorded and kept. But should you complain and the recording is in their favour then they can produce the recording, but if the complaint is in your favour then your recording would be one of the ones that got deleted.

I have had my own problems with Barclaycard who seem to accept that a fraudulent withdrawl has been made on one of their customers credit cards by blocking the card. But then when I confirmed that fraud had been commited they just ignored it. I have phoned the fraud department and listened to them lie about crediting me back the money and then see that they have done no such thing. It has taken me three phone calls to find out that they haven't investigated this fraud at all. It was reported over a month ago and nothing has been done. I'm guessing it has something to do with the personel employed there as the places I always use my cards at the same places and nothing has happened on any of my other cards. It seems the cards was cloned and the pin number given to a criminal to try and steal money. Hilton Barclaycard seem quite happy for this to happen and don't investigate. I would advise anyone thinking about using Hilton Barclaycard to stear well clear as you could end up being charged for fraudulent activity on your card. They couldn't care less about stopping or investigating what is happening.
