HELP WHAT INTERNET CAN I GET too far away from bt exchange

I normally have orange free with my mobile contract but since moving house they have told me I live too far away from the bt exchange, so that rules out just about everyonne doesn't it?

Virgin are not yet in my area so cannot have that....

What else can I try any ideas?

I checked on broadband checker and it says i can receive orange??

It basically says I can receive everything but cable, I wanted orange as it is free with my mobile contract, I have phoned orange againand they still say that I cannot receive them they checked on their systems....it will just make me so mad if I sign up with someone else and then orange change their minds.... I don't understand??

You might want to check how far you are from your exchange before deciding what you do.

I live in Hull - does anyone know if we can get internet broadband access direct through any other provider other than Karoo who have the monopoly and we don't get access to special offers that the rest of the country get

I was told the same thing by orange about 6 months ago the free broadband came with my orange mobile contract ( its £35 pm) but when i rang them to set it up i was told i lived too far from the exchange . I am just trying the mobile broadband service offered by the networks on pay as you go its seems ok plus you save money on a landline if you only have it for internet connections reasons .

You can't unfortunately. The only broadband available in Hull is KC/Karoo.
