New shiny slice the pie thread

it works fine for me - i'd clear your cookies, make sure your broadband is properly connected and try again.

bear in mind before you start up your slice the pie "career" that the amount of cash you will actually earn from the website is way, way out of proportion to the amount of work you'll have to do to actually get it.

you'll also have to sit through a huge amount of crap songs as well.

Thanks for the heads up, and I do realise that, but I'm a huge music fan & hopefully I'll get some pleasure out of giving new bands some costructive critisism...(!)

The link works for me.

If you make sure you have HTTP 1.1, Java, SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0 all ticked.

they are usually the little !!!!!!s that can stop a web site loading for me.

After that I'm afraid I'm at a loss, apart from trying a different browser.

Can you access any other part of the site ?

And what are your internet security settings ?. Do you block certain sites e.t.c.?

the only other thing i can suggest is if you want to PM me with a desired username & your email address then i'll sign you up and PM you back the password.

I should say that i'm a huge music obsessive, but even some of the songs on slice the pie do test my patience !

Michala, that happened to me when I first tried to sign up using FireFox.
I tried again using Internet Explorer and it worked fine

i use firefox and it works with no issues ..

FireFox works fine for me now I'm a member, but for some reason it wouldn't let me sign up using it....

i spent yesterday stuck in voucher hell, and today it seems like stuck between 3 stars - 2 stars hell - very frustrating, it seems to drop my accuracy whenever i rate a terrible song as low, and yet i cant believe others would rate it high, it seems we have to match our reviews to the reviews of other people? would that be right?

yup, thats the only way to rate accuracy, nothing else you could compare it against.

This causes issues with maintaining stars at times.

that basically is the fundamental principle behind slice the pie - you have to rate how you think other people would rate, and how they would rate the song based on it having commercial success.

the theory behind the system is that the highest rated artists will be, by consensus, the ones most likely to have success.
