have a read of the forum over there, it explains most things. the accuracy was reset on relaunch and it's all over the place. you can be punished severely for rating too far outside the 4-7 range.0

so i get punished if i hear a naff track and give it 2 and i get punished if i really do love a track and give it 10? strange..
so basically stay within the 4 - 7 range then?Work to live= not live to work0 -

you've basically nailed it spot on.
it's a crap way of doing it, but then unfortunately if you want to earn some useful money from the site you really don't have a choice. if the money is secondary then by all means rate honestly.
although i did rate a track 10 last night and only dropped 1% - and didn't lost a star either !0 -

if i remember rightly from the last time i was on slice the pie the good tracks are few and between...lol.. but there has been 3 so far that have been absolutely cracking.... proper rock... and fantastic.. oooo heck... looks as though i might not be making much money this time round.. lol..
another question.. how do i put a band on my watch list..? cant find the button:rolleyes:
edit... is it now easier to get stars.? what % have you got to get for 3 stars these days?Work to live= not live to work0 -
look at the player - you'll see a little plus sign in the top right corner. when you've submitted your review and closed the review window, you can click this plus sign to add a song to your list.
the volume of reviews and accuracy is largely the same for stars as it was.
i think it's changed for 5 stars, but then since i'm probably another 6 months away at least from getting to that point, i'd never know !0 -

i think I possibly do my ratings a little differently to everyone else. I do my review based on my own feelings of the song, stating what I like about it, what I dont, and how I think the track would be received by the general public. I then use my score to rate at what I think the masses would rate it rather than myself.0

Darlo-fan - that's exactly what I do. It means I actually get some useful feedback to the artist while at the same time maintaining my accuracy. I'm on 95% at the moment so it's clearly not hard to work out what the masses like....
The thing I find fundamentally flawed about STP is that your 'skill' as a scout is only relative to other people's skills. What if they're all crap but I'm brilliant? That wouldn't be reflected in my accuracy, and let's face it if we were all brilliant at spotting talent we could all be making Simon Cowell's kind of money.0
