i think the accuracy is hard as if you dont like a certain type of music what are you mneant to write the ones ithout vocals all sound the same to me

see this is where i've always said where the whole concept of reviewing the songs on STP falls over.

the idea is you're supposed to rate the song how you think other people would rate it, but if you're a fan of indie or pop music you could hear a hip hop song and think "ok, this sounds good and sounds like something hip hop fans would like" and rate it accordingly.

but a hip hop fan could hear the same song and think "ah man this is rubbish, it sounds like every other hip hop song". so your accuracy goes down because you're rating a genre you're not a fan of.

two rules of thumb really for rating songs in genres you don't like.

1) re-load the scout room and find one you do like.

2) rate it 5 if you think it's rubbish, 6 if you think it's not that bad and write a fairly generic review and pick up on some random song-specific points - mention a lyric or something like that.

agree i always try and point out good things but one guy sounded like a drunk doing karoke lol
i personally love foo fighters erc but i am sure a lot on here dont like it at all

I have reviewed 183 tracks and have 84.51% accuracy and am still on 1 star!

Its hard work for 3p.

dave grohl is, in fact, jesus

i like the foo fighters as well .. but then i'm lucky in that i do genuinely like all styles and all genres of music.

Upto 1045 now and was hoping to finish the room before the weekend

After trying to scout numerous times yesterday without luck, today I logged in at 01.30GMT as I often do (8.30 here), reviewed 3 tracks which all did nor submit (it was not the top of the hour problem). So logged out and tried to log back in but kept getting the error 'unable to validate' I have been trying to log in hourly since then without luck.

i've just signed in and loaded the scout room with no problems at all ..

try clearing your cache, restarting and trying again
