Not enjoying this tonight, 50 tracks today and nothing worth tipping. Some very strange stuff being sent my way tonight, I've had to stop for tea several times just to get my thinking back into perspective.
I had a cover of Automatic so perfect that I suspect they've just uploaded a track from their record collection for a laugh. Anyone else get that one? Am I right or am I way off?
The last track I had was probably the 2nd worst track I've ever heard in my life and I told them so, Clay Corpse doing, cant say it was a song, Lonesome dwarfhead. What total and utter crap. I cringed and curled up in disgust, they sounded like some animal getting tortured. Give me fridges of Uganda anyway, please, give me Fridges of Uganda - They're fast becoming urban legends in their own right.
So for the 2nd time in my STP career I dished the big "0" and was surprised when the site sent a pop up that asked me if I really did want to give "0", Yes or No. Felt a bit intimidated by that - I expect they'll be sending the boys around later to ask me to reconsider.
Then there was a really mediocre rap track that finished with the rapper announcing that he was the best rapper in the world and I must give him respect. And I had one about sparky the dog, it was lame and just a shade embarrasing to listen to. He should have wed the dog and been done with it. I really enjoyed the last scout room but I'm finding myself enduring this one and slowly slipping into Victor Meldrew mode - I expect to get the e-mail any time now but the more I listen the less I'm starting to care.
20 more tracks tonight and I'm done till tomorrow. Just came here to rant as part of my survival technique. Not even looked at STP forum to see if any of the artists are moaning about their reviews - that is fun - especially if its your review thats stirred up their wasp nest for them.

hello, first post! have just joined up with slice the pie and have a quick question- is it ok to say who the band reminds you of and why? it tends to be my fallback when i can't think of anything else?

I've done 214 songs and still stuck on 2 stars - finding it hard to think of things to say tonight.
Got one tune that sounding like two guitarists at an audition for a power metal band, both at the same time showing off how fast they can play.
(told them that in my review)

Oh great, 3 stars at 100 songs. Now I've gone two stars again although my accuracy has gone up in that time. I just don't get it. Does anyone understand how the stars work?

Oh well back to it!!

Yup,and I find this out by adding the facey b application, I don't know any other way to find out....

Its not a mechanical thing. You cant say with precision that at a certain number of tracks or a certain accuracy a certain star level will be reached. I think theres a human element deciding your scout rating as well as those things. Some have gone up stars in very few tracks. I was up and down between 2-3. I did 100s of tracks over Christmas on 1 star. As soon as the office opened I jumped to 3 stars in 24 hours, presumably because a human being had a look at the length and depth of my reviews.
I fear that being too honest can cost stars - but I cant avoid a measure of caustic honesty for some of these tracks, they are taking liberties.

My head is nodding my feet bopping, whoop, this is more like it decent funk/electro/okish rock lol (im hard to please there as it's what I know)

I had to endure a rap song with the lovely lyric "Hey b*tch just give me f***ing head"...honestly...rap about sex if you like but stuff like that is just pathetic.

That lyric makes my skin crawl, guys are so f**king horrible sometimes!
