Investment + Savings strategy (annual lump sum & regular monthly deposits)

Hi,

I'm looking for some guidance on a combined investment and saving strategy.

I'd like to invest annually (as a lump sum) 10k with a view toward high risk and reward (good growth). This would be a 3 year term - hence in total the investment will total 30k. This money represents part of my annual bonus so I don't feel too attached to it - hence the high risk exposure for the chance of generating some more money from it. What is the best option for this sort of investment? I can continue to contribute a small amount, say £500 a month between major deposits.

Additionally, I'd like to save around £2500 a month, for a period of 36 months in a more tradtional manner that presents no risk (if there is such a thing!). Would this sort of deposit be better suited to a standard savings accounts such as the high interest ICICI that everyone seems to be raving about?

Thanks in advance.....
