re mobileshop you should check out other threads, but if my experience is anything to go by they are NOt paying out at the moment. I have submitted ALL my claims to date, all filed on time and acknowledged on their site, and still not paid a penny. I am about to threaten them with court action.

Can't comment on buymobilephones, though historically from what I recall their reputation for paying wasn't great (whereas until late 2006, ie before I took out the current mobileshop contract, mobileshop had a good reputation).

I got a mobile phone through from them, and asked for the free wii offer. The mobile came through very quickly, however when I tried to claim the free gift, the problems started.

I sent through proof of id (a copy of my passport), and proof of address (a utility bill less than 3 months old), and the voucher. 10 days later I had heard nothing, so I emailed them.

They replied saying they had received my documentation, but I'd sent them a letter from my utility company (though I DID send the bill), and they had informed me this by email on 10th Jan. This I found truly amazing, as I only posted the proof on 10th Jan, so they could not have sent me an email regarding it.

I then emailed a pdf of my last electricity bill. they emailed back saying that it was not acceptable, as it was more than 3 months old. The bill is a quarterly bill covering August to November 7th. I pointed this out to them, they said that they could not accept it, as it had 2 dates on it?!?! Has anyone ever had a utility bill that does not cover a period of time?

Basically it is impossible for me to prove my address - most of my bills are online only, and they will only accept bills that have been sent through the post. They will not even accept my bank statement dated last month, as it shows that I was overdrawn....

Any ideas how I can get my free wii ???

Lets get to the point.
Mobile arrived and working fine.
Free Laptop deal but.......!

I live at Flat 1/1 - their system only allows Flat 1,2,3 so for speed as I allways do I pick Flat 2.

They will now not send me the Laptop untill I send them 2 months Mobile Phone bills - 8 - 10 weeks possibly.

What a joke - I'm cancelling everything with them.

Everything is my fault as I can't provide exact proof of address.

I've spent so much time sorting out the problems with this company that I could have earned the cash to buy the Laptop anyway.

p.s. They try to bolt on Insurance with the phone which is a nightmare to cancel. all 0870(High Rate numbers) and do not reply emails.
