Virgin Payg. Cheaper calls to other networks mobiles.

Virgin PAYG charge 35p a minute to phone other networks mobiles.But i understand they only charge 15p a minute to call 0871 numbers.So if you used https://www.bestminutes.co.uk mobile access no 0871 999 63 63 or similar. you would save yourself 20p a minute on cross network calls.(A min call charge would apply).

How exactly does this work? When you dial an 0871 no such as bestminutes do you pay both their charge and virgins or is there only a connection charge to pay to Virgin? Sorry don't want to sound thick but any help would be good, really want to save money where I can.

When you dial the 0871 access number, Virgin start charging for the call at 15p a minute,thereis no connection charge.(The provider of the cheap call service does not charge you at any time).The only problem is if you dont get through a min call charge of 5p usually applies.

The provider of the cheap call service gets a cut of the call revenue.Thats how they make there money.
