PAYG or Contract?

My contract with 3 is about to end in less than a month and i'm struggling to know what to replace it with.

I previously did a Boots Advantage Card offer, however, they no longer seem to do mobile phones? :(

I just need some texts each month really, 100 being plenty. I wondered what the cheapest way would be to do this? PAYG prehaps?

I have a Sony Ericsson handset which is fine but it is locked to 3, and i dont think i can unlock it for free..

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

my 3 contract finishes soon and I've got the same problem at the moment I've got a company mobile with my job but i cant decide whether to go on payg or take out another contract .
The problem now is that alot of the cashback deals have gone and alot of the contracts are for 18 months ,my current deal on 3 was 10 months free on a 12 month contract and i got £36.50 cashback from quidco so the phone cost me £13.50 for the year (nokia 6233 £25 a month)

    that sounds an amazing deal!
if you ring 3 and say you will be leaving they do offer you the same price plan at about £15, well they did with me anyway, so you could haggle a new deal, but, for me, i dont really want to be paying that much a month, when i only really want some text messages.

orange payg is £10 a month for the free texts same as o2, best just pay for them on t-mobile unless you want money stuck on payg credit

it is a good deal which is why I dont want to pay alot on line rental I think i might go for the virgin 6 month contract for £15 a month 150 mins and 150 text plus you send off 1 bill to cpw and get the 6 months free

david69 - check out the Three Retentions thread - keep yourself up-to-date with what 3 are offering. Some of us got 500+100 @ £5 a month for life to stay:D
