Theres a great irish bar on Ferran Street, staff are friendly and there are loads of screens for watching footie. Apart from that, most of the bars in that area are lively. Beware of pickpockets though. Some scumbag managed to unzip my bag, take out my (huge) purse and zip my bag up in the space of a few seconds on the tube. Also, beware of the prostitutes. My friend asked me (a bit too loudly) "are they hookers, they look like it?" they heard us and chased us half way up the street! :rotfl:

The best bar for us is Boadas, on the corner of Las Ramblas and Tallers, about 100mtrs. down Las Rambles on the right hand side, next to Pans. & co. look hard for it, it doesn't stand out much. It is an old fashioned cocktail bar, once frequented by Marlena Dietrich. Been there for generations, locals go there just after work, and after the opera. The bartenders all where tuxedos and mix the best cocktails you can imagine. We have been known to fly to Barca just for the evening to go there, then fly home the next day.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

No, just imagine 2 cheap flights at £25 each, £40 for hotel, £8 car parking, £5 bus from airport, call it £100 then our spends for 2 days, but the real attraction is the bar (mind if you lived in Nottingham you would want to find a decent place to drink as well);)

  • A lot of the locals frequent bars in Rambla Catalunya, which is a lot safer than the Ramblas at night.

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
