My wife suffers with Candida and has the same problem. She is on a wheat, yeast and sugar free diet and has also been told to avoid eating mushrooms as they are a fungi. She has also been advised to avoid drinking wine, beer or anything that has been fermented, but that has proven a little more difficult for her to avoid!. Anyhow, what I intended to tell you is that she has found a bread that she describes as the best thing since ..... sliced bread!! It is called 'Hadrian' and is by a company called The Village Bakery. It is organic, has no added yeast and is made with Spelt flour, water, raisins & sea salt. I would mention that it does contain gluten and naturally occurring yeasts but she has never found this to be a problem. I believe the bread is available through health stores or see their web page www.village-bakery.com
Hope that this has been of use to your gf as I know my wife missed eating bread for ages. She described those Rice biscuit things were like eating polystyrene and cardboard - lovely!
We know hadrian, but she isn't allowed spelt at the momnetn either. she gets Kamut bread from Artisan Bread Original. Expensive but nice, though a little heavy. http://artisanbread-abo.com/The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Hi There, first time poster here:rolleyes2 :rolleyes2 just a word of caution with the bread and if you are coeliac, our DD has coelaic and she cannot eat this as its not whaet free (codex - is gluten free wheat starch), any coeliacs out there, a word of advice, just need to speak to your dietician before you eat the bread

I would like to thank you for posting this as I was diagnosed back in 2002 due to a bowel condition after many gyni operations scar tissue as grown over preventing my bowels from moving. I have had to avoid Gluten & Wheat due to the bloatness and intolerance in my digestive system. Many of the products I buy on the supermarket shelf some are very bland. But for this website you have opened a new door for me. I cannot wait for my prescription to come through to start trying these products. Thanks Again:T0

I have been a diagnosed coeliac for 25 years - I have tried all of the prescribable breads and NONE of them are very good - Now I have a breadmaker with a glutenfree setting, (it is the ''anthony worrall thompson'' brand), and using glutafin bread mix, which is prescribable, I make VERY good bread - definately better than the ready made breads.
I recommend a breadmaker - It IS an expensive initial outlay, but worth it for the quality of the bread produced.
p.s. you can make cakes in it too.

Totally agree, my son has been diabetic from the age of 3 and ceoiliac from 4 and this sample shouldnt be abused by those who dont really need it or intend to use it.0

i was in two minds about posting this. i have already posted my first link from this site. i have been reading these forums for some time now and some people on here are a little aggressive / suspicious.
however in mse spirit (both mixes available on prescription so free/discounted) i will post and let you decide. i came across this recipe today to make Indian chapatis using Juvela gluten free white mix and Glutafin gluten free wheat free white mix. the trick they did was 50/50 of each. in fact they have only put this up today.
