I have a barclays select loan for £17,000 over 116 months and repaying £230 a month at 11.4% AIR the monthly repayment are low but interest is over half the monthly repayment at £142. I have a virgin credit card and barclaycard both offering 0% balance transfers until October with 2.5% transfer fee.
Whats the best way to use the cards to keep interest on loan payments to a minimum ?
Thanks in advance

I am looking to take a small loan to help start my company. I was thinking of around £7000 to cover the costs of a car, car insurance, and marketing my business.
My plan is to attempt to make the company a success for the year, but if it is not financially viable at the end of the year, then look for a full time job to help repay the debt. I am currently not in full time work but have several jobs lined up and also looking at the possibility of part time work.
The payments on the loan for the first year would be covered by the initial loan.
Is this method the best and cheapest way to achieve what I am after or should I be looking at other options?0 -
definitely shop around and get a broker to quote you the best prices, they do it for free, and under no obligation to use them. good luck. and after they quote or point you in the right direction, you don't have to use them, just go to the company they mention. it's their job and know lots of people will do this, but it's up to you ultimately0

Searching for a cheap credit card can be like a bewildering task. Much of the hassle has been removed by the host of financial service comparison sites popping up on the net, on an almost regular basis.0

If you do not want to pay off your Credit Card bill at the end of each month, then you should look at the Annual Interest Rate and you should be looking for a card that offers as low interest rate.0

Hi everyone
I currently have a 2000 overdraft with my graduate natwest account which I max out most months. In june this is turning into a current account and the interest charges will cost me around £30 a month. So I've decided to pay off my overdraft using a 0% interest for 18 months virgin credit card (it is one of the few that offer this type of transfer)
I know there will be a fee (4%) for doing this but I'm worried the T%C's are subject to change and it might not continue to be 0% for the 18 months as promised.
1) Has anyone done this kind of transfer that has good/bad experiences?
2) Is it guarenteed that it will stay at 0% and there are no other hidden charges?
3) Is the repayment plan decided on application? (some of the literature says that theres a risk that is a payment is missed then high charges apply, what if I decide to pay more off the card one month than the other? Would it be safer to just set up a DD and stick to that?
4) Given that I have just paid off 2 credit cards and the only other debt I have is this overdraft (and my student loan) is there I chance I could be denied the card?
Thanks for any advice!
