Glad I could help Suzy Qu

I am not a fan of pasta but I have found the tomato and herb mugshot quite a nice filling snack.

Also, at the weekend I am going to have a cook up, curry for red days, mince (quorn) or chilli for green days and I can then bring into work and heat up with a jacket potato, will let you know how that goes.

Sardines on tomato sauce on toast spread with bovril is lovely as well (of course not everyboy like them) sardines HEB on Green Free on Red

    Thanks Nessa,
I love sardines on toast but never tried it with bovril. Must give that a go.

    hi there petrichor

i will certainly be reading this thread regularly and will try to motivate/encourage/help others who are in the same position. i normally weigh myself on a tuesday so i will update my personal progress on those days.

i personally think the 2 biggest problems that i have faced would be drinking far too much and not having time to prepare meals that are healthy in the evenings.

for the first part, the drinking, i have just stopped completely after drinking 4-5 times a week which was a result of being bored and having nothing better to do if i am honest. i dont find i miss it but the big test will be when i go to Dublin with my mates for a stag do lol!

the second part, not having time to prepare healthy meals, i have worked around by spending one day per month cooking 4 different dishes and freezing them. these last me up to one month at a time and are all low fat healthy meals in good portions. i also keep fresh vegetables in the fridge which i have with the meals and take less than 5 mins to prepare.

so far the regime is working very very well and couldnt be more happier with the results.

anyway just thought i would share some of the things i have been doing with everyone else and hope that it will encourage them to make some changes in their diet as it really is key in losing weight. although i have to add that dieting with no exercise does seem to be much a wasted effort to me :)

carry on the good work people :)

Hi all, just back from lunch. Work colleague suggested we eat at a staff restaurant. Tried to be good and have the healthiest thing.......warm mushroom salad but it came covered in a lot of oil. Then had a piece of home made bread but it was a really large chunk with cheese inside it, so think it was quite a hefty meal calories wise despite good intentions. never mind...... I will draw my imaginary line under it again and onwards and upwards.

Bunter I am the same...... don't have the time to cook healthy meals each evening, so cook a number of meals in one go and then freeze. Then put it in microwave for a few mins! Nessa isn't that what you are doing too?

When i come home in the evening I am usually ravenous and will grab the nearest thing to eat and it really helps if I've already got something quick.

My boss is busy in the office and thinks I am working hard as he can hear me tapping away on computer.....:rotfl:

    Hi SuzyQu

Just back from lunch myself, first curry sauce in over a month so it was luverrllleyyyy.

I do make meals and freeze them and then bring them in, or leave to defrost ready for me to warm up in the evening and just add veg etc to them.

One thing I do like and sometimes have in the evening is slimming world chips with a couple of eggs, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms.

It's a bit of faffing around but really nice, sometimes have bacon with it as a HEB.

    Hi Nessa

Don't you just love something even more when you've not eaten it for a while........

Visiting my mum tonight and she said she will do a light salad so should make up for the oily salad and bread just had. Hey, your curry sauce sounded gorgeous!
