Call Divert

Options
Sorry if this subject has been discussed before.

I use 18866 for most of my calls but on a daily basis need to divert to a local number.

Is it possible to divert using BTs *21* through 18866?

Thanks for any advise

Thanks for that. Had a feeling that was going to be the answer. Suppose I will just have to pay BT for diverted calls :'(

I should have added that if you join a CPS supplier - some of them (not all) can also offer/support call divert.

So if you were to join TalkTalk for instance and use Call Divert you would be charged for the diversion at TalkTalk's rate, which is useful if you need to divert in evenings and weekends - as they are currently offering this free for a year (they are also offering 30 minutes of calls to mobile free instead if thats better) + giving you £10 cashback - see my signature for details... so your calls would be diverted for free during this period.

  • What is BT's *21*?

It basically redirects all calls you receive to another number for example you would type:

    *21*01234567890#

if you wanted to direct all your incoming calls to 01234 567890. You do need to subscribe to it though and you will pay for incoming calls as though you were making the call to 01234 567890 yourself.

I work from home and it's great for directing all my calls to my mobile when I have to go out.
  • Thanks Hopeful, I've not heard of it before. It may be useful to me.
  • No problem. You can also set it up so that it diverts calls to the particular number if you don't answer in 15 seconds - have also set this up as it's useful if I forget to do the *21* - think the code for it is something like *61* but can't remember as I set it up so long ago!
  • Can users please note this thread is two years old :)

Yes, on those UK mobile numbers as long as you've chosen the mobile numbers to be in your calling circle. Friends & Family discount applies to the BT Together CallMobile pence per minute rate. You could also change to the new Friends & Family Auto Update that will automatically give you a 10% discount on your top eligible numbers. This can be any combination of International, fixed UK or UK mobile numbers and is available at no extra charge. Visit the Friends & Family area for more details.
