Yer. I think it would be cheaper to get a new system to be honest - but can't afford that right now. I'll have a look around and see what I can find. Might find a graphics card that doesn't say whether it is compatible, but may have an update which makes it.

    Hi.

Just started upgrading my PC - it's only 2 years old, and it appears that Dell have ripped me off somewhat.

I've noticed that I only have 2 RAM memory slots and, my graphics card slot is PCI, not PCI-E.

So, I have Windows Vista and am looking for a PCI graphics card that supports vista. I can't find one for the life of me. Anyone know where I can find one?!
I have a old five year old Acer T120...
    running XP Home...
i have hooked this up to my new 22" widescreen monitor along with my new(ish) computer..
so i have two computers using the same internet connection and using the same monitor..the old one via VGA and the new one via HDMI....however..
my old Acer which has on board graphics does not support the 1680x1050 resolution of my new monitor (everything looks BIG!!) ...i have looked inside the case of my old Acer and it has two white expansion slots (are these PCI or PCI-E??)....
    and one browish/orange slot (AGP?)...
Does anyone recommend a el cheapo Graphics Card (£20-£30) for my old pc that will give me the 1680x1050 resolution..and make things on my old computer look normal again.
    Thanks

I had (the kids use it now) a Dell 1100 which only had the facility to use a pci slot for a graphics card, I bought a GeForce 6200 similar to the one shown in the link. I'm sure I spotted an updated GeForce pci card on Ebay but I forget the model version.

We see a she load of these Dells at work, they are the same motherboard as the higher spec ones but with the AGP slot missing, if u look just above the PCI slots you can see the solder points ready for it.

Unfortunatly the only way is to go PCI with these but I have yet to find a Vista Compatible one either.

I'm contemplating just downgrading back down to XP. I have a copy of XP that I should be able to downgrade to. But I like Vista, so it's a hard choice for me! Thoughts!

    Just checking something.

I've decided to revert back to XP as my PC is really too slow to run Vista. I have a Dell PC that had XP installed already on it so no disk from them. I did have a copy of XP somewhere, but that's gone missing.

Being a student, I am a part of the MSAA which means I get software from MS for free and can get a copy of XP. Is it possible to run this download (I'm guessing it is what would be on the XP disk, so setup etc) and install XP. So if I had the XP disk, would it allow me to downgrade back to XP?
