Virgin Mobile Standard Tariff - big changes from 28/01/08
The Standard Virgin Mobile Tariff is changing from 28/01/02 (min call charge change tackes effect on 11/02/08)
Their bonus minutes promotion has been available for Pay As You Go customers since October, it looks like this will now be integrated into a new standard tariff.
OLD TARIFF
LANDLINES/VIRGIN MOBILES 15p/min for first 5 mins each day then 5p/min
OTHER MOBILES 35p/min all times
TEXTS 3p to Virgin phones, 10p to other networks
VOICEMAIL free
Minimum call 10p.
NEW TARIFF
LANDLINES/ALL MOBILES First 5 minutes: 15p/min Next 5 mins: FREE
Any more minutes charged at 15p/min
TEXTS First 5 texts 10p/each, next 5 FREE, further texts 10p
VOICEMAIL free
Minimum call charge 15p.
Free minutes don't seem to be available to Pay As You Go by direct debit customers.

Thanks for the information, Ypaymore and mobilejunkie. The corrected information stands as follows:
OLD STANDARD TARIFF (still available for those who want it)
LANDLINES/VIRGIN MOBILES 15p/min for first 5 mins each day then 5p/min
OTHER MOBILES 35p/min all times
TEXTS 3p to Virgin phones, 10p to other networks
VOICEMAIL free
Minimum call 10p (to increase to 15p too?)
NEW BONUS DAILY TARIFF (an opt-in tariff, no promotional conditions)
LANDLINES/ALL MOBILES First 5 minutes: 15p/min Next 5 mins: FREE
Any more minutes charged at 15p/min
VIRGIN TEXTS First 5 texts 3p/each, next 5 FREE, further texts 3p
OTHER TEXTS First 5 texts 10p/each, next 5 FREE, further texts 10p
VOICEMAIL free
Minimum call charge 15p.
Unless you are likely to call Virgin mobiles for more than 13 minutes a day, the new tariff is likely to be better, but if you call this much, a contract deal is going to be significantly better anyway.0 -
You have to opt in to get the better tariff by sending them a text. Takes up to 48 hours to switch to the new tariff.0
