Bleeding Central Heating Rads.

I know that you turn the key on the Rads to let the air out but do you have to do it a certain way, i.e. Is it best to bleed upstairs or downstairs first, do you have to start the furthest point away from boiler etc etc.

Thanks for any help :)

Am prepared to be corrected on this, but I don't think it matters how you do it.

That is my impression as well, and the advice websites don't give a sequence of radiators to bleed.

Make sure the central heating is off first.

There is a danger of pulling more air in if it is left on.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

Yeah I read that on a site first  plus im bound to scald myself
  • If you have a combi boiler/pressurised system double check the pressure dial after bleeding. It should be around 1 bar.
