Lovely with fresh chopped chillis in too to make chilli jam, lovely with cheese and cold meat.
The chili sinks to the bottom so give them a swirl as they cool and set and you get the chilli bits all suspended in the jelly. It looks fab and makes a great gift."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
I made some apple and cinnamon jelly last year from the peelings. It tasted and lasted in the jar much better than the regular apple jam made from the fruit.
Will definitely be making this again this year - its almost free!0 -
I'm so cheap I make sure my other half keeps the cores from apples, and I do too when I snack of them and also when we make apple pie. Always make apple jam from them, its such a good byproduct that people dont think about.Nessy x

Do you keep the cores etc in the freezer until you have enough for jam? Or does that affect the pectin content?0
