Are you going to each apply for a card - that way if the credit limits are lower you'll stand a better chance of covering your existing balance.
IMHO Egg are about the quickest/easiest to apply for 'cos it's all online.
But if we got a new card each are we allowed to transfer half of the balance to each card? Or do wwe have to transfer it all to 1 card???
Sorry I am new to all of this debt malarky!
So really we just want an interest free card - perhaps one each, and if there was any freebie then that would be even better. Also we need one that charges no fees for BT and one that doesn't require you to spend to receive the 0% interest.
All we want to do is clear all of our debt! And as quickly as possible!Dream of being mortgage free....

Yes you can split the transfer between the cards. In effect each card will send a cash sum to your old card. If it takes 2 or more cards to pay off the debt that is fine.
I wouldn't worry about freebies, a good credit card is more important, but there is a thread on this board devoted to the subject if you want to have a read.
The cards previously mentioned are fine:
LLoydsTSB Advance - 0% for 12 months but DON'T use it for purchases.
Egg - 0% until 1 June and then another 5 months free starting on each anniversary.
Egg and Mint both let you do another handy thing called SBT - but don't worry about that yet, sort out your debts first.
Also consider a credit card from your bank if they offer a 0% period. As long as you have a good record with them (ie no unauthorised overdrafts) they are likely to offer you a higher credit limit as they know you better.0 -
