Even worse are the ones who've started stapling all of the junk mail into the magazine so you can't 'shake it out'!!!

not much different to the fact that half of the magazine is usually adverts (and if you include the sponsored editorials, well)

Our post arrives long after we've gone out to work (usually around 11.30 I think) and is the usual collection of threatening letters to the previous owners of our house (who ripped me off, so I have no hesitation in telling the companied demanding cash where they are now) and other rubbish. The cruel paradox here is that on Saturday, the only morning we get a lie in, we have been woken by the postman with a parcel on each of the last three saturdays before 7.30am!!! If I was being cynical, I'd think that maybe the postie wanted to get his round done more quickly on a saturday than in the week!

I hope you are all remembering to remove your names and addresses from all of the piles of junk mail before you bin it.

I have found my name plastered two or three times inside some of the junk mail. No wonder there is Identity theft.

Cut out and shred the name and address(es) but recycle the rest!
Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").

I agree, there should be an option to cancel it as it's dire and full of crap!

I totally agree I just take the bit out with my address on and shred that than throw the rest straight in the bin ( recycle bin of course) I would happily opt out especially if they knocked a bit off the subscription. When I first subscribed it was a reasonable tv guide but with the latest technology it's a waste of paper.

Not sure how important that is. If somebody wants your name and address they can get if from the electoral roll - they don't need to search through your rubbish to find it.

I think that it is the same with all these 'in-house' magazines... the company is just using them as a vehicle to flog advertising space.

I used to get magazines from BAA Worldpoints and Britannia Ovens that contain banal articles on holidays or lifestyle guff, and invariably 'specially selected offers exclusively for our members'.

The sad thing is that somebody must be buying some of the tat they are peddling, otherwise they wouldn't continue to churn it out.

When I signed up for sky+ recently, I was asked whether or not I wanted the magazine so there must be an option to opt out?
