Hello jeannieblue
Glad to hear the Pru scenario has been sorted. I could be wrong about this, but it seems you are annoyed that some posters on this forum may have been a bit "judgmental" - an attitude which I gather is disapproved of over on the debt boards.
We don't have that "non-judgmental" convention here on the pensions board, we tend to call a spade a spade, not least because people have enough trouble grasping pensions terminology as it is, so straightforwardness is really quite essential. I'm sure you can see the point of this.
.
Of course this is not the same as rudeness, and one poster on the thread seems to have developed a habit recently of taking what might be called eccentricity a little too far, and has thus had his posts removed.Let's hope he gets back on track asap.
I think we probably clarified what you need to do earlier on, but of you need any more help with the pension, be sure to post again.
Trying to keep it simple...

Spade a spade - I accept that - I was the first person to call myself stupid!
Trouble is - the unnecessary comments just get peoples backs up and gets in the way of advice. They don't 'see' the advice in the end, just the nastiness. People want frank and open comments and good solid advice - they do not need their noses rubbed in it - that is why they come on here, they already know there is a problem - don't make it hurt more than it already does.
Poor Zyyb - yep the lad is in dept - he has reduced it - Well done Zyyb - now can't we help him a bit more?? i can offer moral support but I can't offer him financial support as that is not my field. There is no point in reminding him or telling him off for where he is at now - cos he already knows! Thats why he's on the forum - or was - can't see he's been back... Which in a way, that says it all.
People can be very vulnerable when they are in trouble, whether it be financial or emotional or both. That must be respected. Lets not push any one to an edge or God forbid over it.
Sorry if that sounds dramatic but you have to realise that it is human beings posting on this site. Thats not directed at you Edin, just a general observation and don't want you to take that personally.:D
I've gotta go to bed - have a really early start each day and should've gone hour ago. Bet you wish I had............:DGenie

Absolutely appalling....you may have said that tongue in cheek (I hope)
I wonder what the smillie means.... Sorry, I didn't realise that this section had turned into the liberals and PC posting only forum.the poster needed help not criticism.
Jeannie said congratulate him. So I did.in life have made some mistakes and Zyyk is fully aware of that
He didnt come across like that when he was being critical of accurate and valid responses.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Jeannieblue...
:You think???
Its 'nice' to suggest slapping his *a...e*?
No wonder he took offence.
Actually he didn't, Man to man I Told him I'd kick his !!!! if he were my son and 14k in debt at 23 and I even added a smiley hoping he would not take me too seriously. if you care to get someone to read it out for you as you obviously have a problem reading English you will find he thanked me and had already had a dig at Dunstonh as it was his previous post made before mine that he'd read between the lines and took offence to when non was intended.
And all this clucking over the fence by you girls now was all bought about by you saying I was being xxx (I forget the word you used now) / slapping you down/ treating you like a child for merely giving you what is probably the best bit of advice you have ever had in your life...
"Dont sign a contract without reading it"
Well done luv your the first person ever to say I'm that in 50 years half of which I've been given financial advice for a living and never had 1 complaint.I am going to report this to abuse and hope they close this thread. Its been disgraceful the way people have behaved. Should be ashamed of yourselves - call yourself professionals.
Please do, the women on here are acting like a load of old hens clucking away stirring up !!!!!!. No one has acted any more disgraceful as you as you dont even have the bottle to admit you got the Pru to stop the annuity under the cooling off period, instead of which you have implied they were at fault in not sending you the right forms when we all know they cant send something that does not exist.EdInvestor..
Of course this is not the same as rudeness, and one poster on the thread seems to have developed a habit recently of taking what might be called eccentricity a little too far, and has thus had his posts removed.Let's hope he gets back on track asap.
Maybe you need to learn how to read also Ed as this thread was quite well edited the accusations of Jeannieblue which started it were removed as was the trolling post of the complainant as well as mine which was merely retalitory.
While your at it for the 2oth time or thereabouts will you please stop telling folks they can only do drawdown in a SIPP when you know full well it's not true.
Actually you are getting a bit better, since the last time I asked you to stop it the score is 3 lies to 1 The one post was actually correct well done.:T0 -
sorry, but this has turned into a childrens' playground with tit-for-tat - i can't believe the experts on here have to have the last word.
the OP came on here very worried and wanted a bit of reassurance and advice - she is not trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes.
i normally respect the pensions experts on here and see their advice a lot, but i'm afraid i am a little disappointed on this thread and i think it's time for them to go and help some other posters.........0 -
Apart from some posts that have now been removed, there was nothing objectionable on this thread until the OP started calling them so - and then people unfortunately retaliated.
It was also the OP who dragged another thread into this, which was nothing to do with this one.
The people here have retaliated which imho was not necessary, however, it was the OP who started being provocative (other than the posts which have now been removed).
The people on this board are normally very helpful.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
