hi,
i sent an item on the 12th december, just had an email from buyer 2 days ago asking where his item was?
i haven't replied yet as i dont know what to do, i sent it, but it was only a cheap item, so used stamps i had in the house, then used post box, therefore no postage reiept
i never usually do that, but with xmas madness, i couldn't face the post office.
what should i do?
i have 100% feedback

You should refund the buyer as he has paid for an item and not received it.
Unfortunately you cannot claim from RM ,but at least it wasn't high value.:j I love bargains:jI love MSE0 -
I would refund0

Your 100% reputation is worth far more than the price of the item you are refunding. Legally its the right thing to do as well. The buyer wins in this situation0

I had worse than that
-> sold an item for a friend for £60
-> got paid by paypal
-> gave the money to my friend
-> posted it via special delivery
-> after a fortnight i threw out the postage receipt.
-> after the third week got an email 'hi have you dispatched my item yet?'
Nothing i could do but refund as i had no proof of postage.

Why did you not record the tracking number on paypal or ebay?
I always update my sale record on ebay with the tracking number and I put the tracking number on the transaction page in paypal. Paypal then send the buyer the tracking number.0 -

Hindsight is 20:20.
I've sold over 2000 items on ebay. Never had that problem before.

I had the same problem in November i sent an item 1st class and it wasnt received by the buyer. I filled in the compensation form of the royal mail website and filled in all the details my name and address and the buyers and how i send the item and how much the item was worth.
Royal mail got back to me and said we are unable to trace items that were not sent recorded therefore they were going to give me the amount the item was worth and enclosed was the cheque for he amount i said the item was worth.
If i was you i would refund the buyer and fill in the form as i too never send mine recorded ( as was worth under 30pounds) just 1st class and still got a cheque for the amount.

You don;t need recorded to make a claim at all, you just need some sort of proof of postage, a COP will do.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Oh yes i know that it doesnt have to be recorded to make a claim i was just pointing out that like thinkginge mine wasnt sent recorded and i still got the cheque off royal mail.
Did you put no 'refunds' on your ebay listing? Only other thing i can think of is tell buyer you are going to fill out the form and wait for outcome of it,if you get cheque you can refund him/her and could still have a little money left for you so then you wont be losing out.New York ♥..........These street will make you feel brand new, Big lights will inspire you.
