Lost my Bank Card, Found and used!

Technically you could be liable for the delay in reporting it, however for such a silly amount they wont bother0

Wow, the help here is great, im going to ring my bank in about half an hour to discuss it with them, i know it is a silly amount but when your 16 and at school with your mums birthday next week you need all the money you can get.
Any ideas on how i should word this.
"hi i called yesturday about canceling my card since i lost it on the bus and after looking on my statement online i noticed that i had £16 used on "vue entertainment" the same day. Im now calling to find out if there is any way that the money can be returned to my account as i did not authorize this payment and i am aware that my local vue has a machine that doesn't ask for a pin when you buy cinema tickets so im sure whoever found it used this method to spend the money in my account.

I wouldn’t say that part. You don’t have to play detective and work out how it happened. You just need to tell them you didn’t make the payment. Yes, the banking word is ‘authorise’. I don’t think they’re that bad. As you’re tell the truth, I don’t see why you would have a problem. Please ignore what Iamthesmartestmanalive said. It’s the cinema’s problem for letting stolen cards be used. If the machines don’t contact the bank for each and every payment, which is also quite likely, they still wouldn’t have known, even if you had told the bank immediately. You’ve already said you won’t wait, if this ever happens again. If it happens when you’re older and richer, you could have more inconvenience trying to get a larger amount of money back.古池や蛙飛込む水の音0 -

I've never used these machines but if what you say is true, then can't the cinema tie up the transaction with the stolen card and the online booking made earlier?
If so then that would probably give the card number of the person who booked at the very least - possibly more details but like i said, i've never used them.
Unless the thief used the stolen card at home to make the booking then went to the cinema in person to get them from the machine.
Either way, the transaction was not authorised so getting a refund should be fairly straightforward, if a bit time consuming and annoying.
