When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Today I will:

Today I will:
- Get DS3 to clean my car instead of taking to car wash - (free:D )
- Use up yesterdays chicken on sandwiches for lunch.
- Clear and shred one large pile of paperwork.
- Check online banking & reconcile accounts prior to payday (15th:D )
- Batch cook some meals for freezer.

Hey snaggles, I won't tell anyone if you do!
I've got £40 in my purse, need petrol, £10 savings for Christmas 2008 and shopping!!!!!
Have made a shopping list and HAVE to stick to it. I will not use my card this weekend. I am going to make my money last!!!!!0 -
Today:
I really have the urge to spend, so to counter that I will...
...check eBay for similar items to ones I intend to sell soon
...spend ages on MSE rather than go to the shops
...avoid the booze tonight due to money but mainly because there are a few mr. handsomes making appearances at this party and I want to make sure I'm charming and not a liability.LBM : August 2007my debts: less than this time last year....!DFW Nerd Club #706I'm Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts0 -

I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

Lol, I have actually got a 'real' one - today I am giving washable nappies another go after trying and failing with them after I had DD (now 8 months old). I bought a slightly bigger wrap, which was only £1.50 brand new on ebay, but in fact I haven't used it, as the size we already have seems to fit her better (no wonder I was struggling when she was a newborn then ). So, bearing in mind I paid £25 for them, plus another £1.50 for the new wrap, that brings the total cost per nappy used down from £13.25 to £8.83! I want to use the nappies enough times so that they have paid for themselves, so to speak, so I have to bring this 'cost per nappy used' down to the price of a disposable.......hmmm, quite a way to go yet, it's still the price of 2 packs of disposables!
Does that make sense or was I just waffling?"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
I will:
- Pay off my debts to Mum (didn't get round to it yesterday) DONE
- Add some more ££ to my sealed pot ADDED £20 note
- Hide my £70 xmas money and use it only to pay petrol (as I am lethal with cash if I have any - it never makes it to the bank!) DONE £35 hidden in purse compartment, £35 in pot at home
- Do pigsback and onepoll
- Transfer £60 into house savings fund
- Clean the cars (my least fave job ever)
- Strictly come dancercise DVD (free exercise)
- A good chunk of my essay
- wash my hair
