I wouldn't recommend folks install this yet, especially the majority of MSE people who are less "technically savvy". Beta's are not finished products and are installed at your own risk-which may void a warranty if something goes wrong.Out of my mind. Back in 5 minutes.0

Here we go then, if I am not back soon.........0

Ok All well here WinXP SP3, v.3264
Running off an old 10Gb 10,000rpm scsi drive, Pentium4 1.6mhz, 1Gb ram. No hardware errors listed.
Go for it. It does create a backup of you sys files.0 -
Been using it for weeks now since release 3244... Its been excellent with not one problem and fixed my USB 2 problems as well...
There is also a built in uninstaller that works excellent as I did have to briefly uninstall it to install Pinnacle Video Studio as it doesnt recognise the service pack and wont install with it in... BTW Pinnacle works no problem with it, it just wont install0 -
I read somewhere that if you've downloaded all the updates since SP2, then you've more-or-less got SP3 already, and you won't find any noticeable differences. Or have I been mislead?"The trouble with quotations on the Internet is that you never know whether they are genuine" - Charles Dickens0

Yup, SP3 won't really change much for the fully-patched SP2 user. There's a microsoft document here if you're interested in the new functionality. I believe there are a number of hotfixes in SP3 that wouldn't have been sent over Windows Update (you'd have had to manually install them).
I don't think SP3 is anything to get excited about ... unless you reinstall your PC ... then it won't spend hours rebooting your computer with updates
