Sorry to not answer your question, but can you tell me where you got your Prague deal from? Where did you stay?
Thanks!0 -
We booked our flight through http://www.easyjet.com/ and flew from Stansted. We booked our hotel on http://www.lastminute.com/
We stayed at http://www.hotel-u-hvezdy.prague.st/index.php and can deffintly recomend it, it is just outside of the main city area, but there is a tram route from hotel to city, and is very easy to use, plus the hotel has a restaurant. We had a 2 course meal, plus a couple of beers each and came to a total of £8.00, so i would say thats a bargin. The closer you get to the city the more expensive things get, but not that you would moan at paying 1.50 for a beer!!! Cheapest we found it was 55p
We also bought a card over here, but can buy in Pague too, whcih gave us 3 days of travel on metro, tram and trains, plus entrance to 40 places. It cost us 20.00 each for that.We got it from this web site http://www.czech-slovak-tourist.co.uk/index.php?sn=praguecard&pn=index0 -
Weve booked our flights to Budapest with Wizzair.com and it came to 44 each, they have a nice flight on a Thursday from Luton. Easyjet also fly from Luton. I used hotelscomparisions website and came up with a four star hotel that was three nights for the price of two through Hotelscentral, this worked out to £88 for 3 nights.0

I like this site for hotel info: http://www.tripadvisor.com
You could also look on: http://www.lonelyplanet.com/destinations/ and http://www.roughguides.com/ for things to do and general info.
I went last year and really ejoyed it. Sorry can't remember the name of the hotel, but I do know it was in the quieter side of the river near the castle. It was ideal for us. Hope you have fun.Saving money is fun :A0 -
Hi!
We were in Budapest last month. Great place.
Just want to add that if you don't plan to visit a lot of museums, it is much cheaper to buy the three-day tourist card instead of the Budapest card.
We went to Gundel as recommended by the earlier Budapest thread. We also went to Bagolyvár (Owl’s Castle) Bagolyvár (Owl’s Castle) that is next door to Gundel. They are owned by the same owner but cheaper at Bagolyvár.
Asked one of the waitress for directions to the zoo at Bagolyvár. She led us to the adjoining Gundel terrace, walked to the back, pulled back a short shrub and gestured for us to walk. We walked a few steps before it hit us that we were actually inside the zoo!
Have a good trip.0 -
Hi
We have just come back from Budapest. The weather was really hot!
We stayed at the Agua Panorama Hotel. The best deal was £19.00 per night with http://www.wintersunshineholidays.com/
That is for 2 adults and one child bed and breakfast.
The hotel is situated in the Buda Hills which is a little far out but there is a regular and cheap bus service to take you to and from the city.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
Thankyou for all the information and links you have provided. Will now have to decide which hotel to stay at, and what to go and see once we are there!0
