If you are unsure ring them up and ask them, they definately pick up items up for free over a certain weight as i have done in the past, its also mentioned on the shoppingtelly.com forum a few times.

Anyone with any sense dosent buy from QVC anyway, they make out that everything is "Brilliant" just as any shopping site does. the way they "Over Egg" the simplest of products is laughable. when you see something you want, just "Googel" round and you will probably find it cheaper anyway. P&P is very high for low cost items, so if you take the P&P cost BOTH ways, its hardly worth sending back anyway. They are NOT DAFT!

    Is this what you mean?:-

'Postage and packaging charges will not be refunded and customers are responsible for meeting the cost of return postage. This does not affect your statutory rights.

What if I change my mind? (QVC’s 30-day money-back guarantee) Every product sold by QVC is backed by our 30-day money-back guarantee. We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. However, if you change your mind about an item or would like to change the size or colour, simply return it within 30 days of receipt, in accordance with the return instructions and label enclosed with your order. We also recommend that you obtain proof of delivery. Where an item is too heavy to be returned via Royal Mail, please contact our Customer Service Representatives to arrange for collection by courier.

Provided that the item is returned in clean condition and in its original packaging, the purchase price will be refunded. You should allow up to 21 days from receipt of your returned goods at our Customer Operations Centre for your refund to be processed. We will normally refund you using the same payment method that you used to purchase the goods. Postage and packaging charges will not be refunded and customers are responsible for meeting the cost of return postage. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Copied and pasted the whole section from the website . I have highlighted the section that I think means that if the item is too heavy then they will arrange a courier to collect it from you .
Baby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .
Thomas came home after 3 months and 2 days in hospital weighing 5lb 15ozs
    Thomas weighed 21lb 4ozs on his 1st birthday , a total weight gain of 18lbs 5ozs !

If you are unsure and dont beleive what we are telling you then ring them up and ask, it is free collection as i have had it in the past
  • Can I settle this arguement?

If an item weighs over 4kg a courier will come collect said item free of charge.
I know that because I've done it.

All that is required is a signature.
You do of course have to ring QVC to arrange collection but there is no charge for collection of heavy items.

IMO QVC sell better quality clothes than most "normal" catalogues who boast free returns, and at least you get to see clothes being properly modelled. This time I was unlucky. MY grumble is over.

  • QVC has good value on beauty TSV where you do get expensive premium beauty sets for a fraction of the retail cost. For individual items, as someone else said, you can get much better prices on the www or eBay.

That said, I have often returned an almost empty jar back or part used nail polish or fragrance and had a quick full refund. For a £50 at John Lewis pot of face cream that's not bad even if I have paid £5 in postage. I could not imagine doing that at any other store just because I didn't like a cream/shower gel/nail polish ... can you imagine just asking? !!

I was watching last week when an omelette came out of a gadget and it was still very very raw eggy/runny inside ... the look on the presenters face was hillarious. Also, one of the male presenters was selling feng shui stuff and he was honest enough to say he thought it was a load of clap trap! And the beauty expert, was telling the audience about the pregnant guest next on ... and guess what, she was just a little overweight in a floaty dress. So for all the rubbish they spout, it can be quite entertaining to watch.
  • you dont have to pay for return postage - it is included in the original p & p charge. Call them and they will arrange for collection or send you a label.

sorry I didnt realise that the above was not for all items from QVC - just items over 4kg
