    Hi
W are looking to buy a leather suite and wondered if anyone has noticed any good deals out there. Have seen one we like at a good price from Harveys but many posters have had bad service from them. We are based in warrington, and most of the big companies have a shop locally, Many thanks for your help.

We got ours from Harveys and it's very good quality and there was nothing wrong with the service. They even held it in stock for us awaiting delivery for over 3 months, free of charge, while we waited for our flat purchase to finally complete. When we were ready, they delivered within 2 days, and turned up for delivery with the agreed time frame on that day.

We were pleased with this, and ordered our dining suite from there a few weeks after moving in too.

SCS are in real trouble. check the stock market before you give them a deposit!
(shares fell off a cliff last week).
LOL in the same boat too.

we are taking bets here, at Ormus Towers, which will go bust first.

I had the same problem with MFI, excpet the recliner mechanism broke within 6 months. To begin with they offered us £180 to pay for an independent upholsterer to repair them (our sofas were and end of line) but after doing some research I called back mentioning the Consumer Protection Act and guess what, I got a full refund!

Yes with ours from Harveys it is the recliners that caused the problem. To look at our sofas there is nothing wrong with the leather upholstery in fact they look as good as the day we bought them.

Why they `spoilt the ship for a halfpeth of tar` I do not know.

Recliners render the sofas `weak` and in our case very bad design.

We bought two DAVID PAINE leather sofas from John Lewis 18 years ago, quality leather. They no longer supply JL, but have their own website.

Hi, would like to say although I can't recommend the customer service, the sofas are great at dfs. We had our leather recliners 6yrs ago. They are just as good as new, and that is two children later= 3 children climbing, jumping, spilling drinks and drawing on. So Io would def recommend going and having a look. HTH

  • Have been into Harveys with the OH and neither of us were impressed with the quality of the cheaper recliners - there were huge gaps between the cushions at the back so you could see right through them. So will be off to Ikea and DFS at the weekend.
  • Have gone for a set from land of leather which were on offer at 400 in their 12 hr spectacular last thursday. Not recliners coz we think the kids will mess with them too much and break them in no time.

    ps.
was talking to a manager from LOL today.
sales are down badly, and hes very worried about his job.
also SCS have just sacked loads of managers, and are going to sack any non performing sales staff.
it aint looking good for either company.
