Unlocking a Motorola v600?

A friend of mine has bought a Motorola v600 from e-bay. Does anybody know how he would go about getting it unlocked. Had a trawl through previous posts but couldn't find anything. It is currently locked to the Orange network.

no free way of doing these in afraid

but its £17.99 and you also need a cable (site seems to be down atm)
a market stall would charge about £10

I'm sure that your local independent phone shop will do it for a few quid. My local small shop will unlock mine for £10, although I'd rather wait until someone puts the codes online (like they've done with the Nokia phones).
