Look on the bright side - they might nail the scum who took it.

kniwing the magistartes court the theif will probably get a £50 fine and a warning - nothing else
  • I have had a similar experience and complained to the company, they issued me another order and this time I had to sign for it - felt like they didn't trust me. But it appears they changed their courier. I would say its their problem if they cannot prove it was delivered. If they don't use a service where signatures are required, then they are reponsible.
Depends what their T&C say with regards to lost/stolen items -can't see anything on their website though. But looking at their delivery options, they don't offer signed for deliveries only on certain items, so it would be up to them to send out another order or refund.
I would give them another call - especially if you are waiting on item for presents, explain this and say you want something done ASAP (please). Hope this helps.
  • I doubt the Police will do anything even if they catch them, I would as someone else mentioned Tell Boots you never got the items ordered as long as you didn't tell them to leave it in your shed - not your fault
Help me to help you :santa2:

    hi

many thanks for all your kind replies, well we have a witness who took the cars reg no and they have checked up on it and it does belong to known common burgulars, they police came around sat morning and took a statement, the policeman said it could possibly go to court, though i doubt it.

boots have refunded us, but the annoying thing is i cannot reorder the stuff being in the sale it has all sold out.

husband is supposed to be getting a call from the manager of boots.com (or a manager), have told husband to say house upset i have been by this and that we have had to make tons of phone calls and have the police around and that we may have to go to court.

husband phoned our local Amtrak sat morning to see just how many parcels have gone missing and it was the whole order (5), in his wisdom he decided to leave them. well husband told the amtrak guy on the phone that boots have blamed them and that they were not supposed to be left in someones garden in an unlocked shed, well the amtrak guy said "well boots are talking a load of cr*p" i just cant see how someone can be so rude.

anyway once again thanks for the replies.

have calmed down a lot now and just put this one to experience but i shall now be locking my gate so that no-one can leave any deliveries in the shed.

well i decided to email the local paper with the story, did not think they would be all that interested but have had an email asking us to contact them, at least we can put out the story and warn others.

    regards
