My Boots.com order STOLEN from shed!!!!!

Well this year has gotten off to a bad start with dad and husband and 18 month old son all in hospital within a few weeks and now i get home to discover that my boots order has been stolen from my back garden shed. i dont know what to do cry or let rip.

i came home at 4.45pm to find that my gate was open and my shed was also open, ok i thought the postie must have left something. take the kids in and find amtrax note that items had been left in shed. go out to shed to find no items - i am soooooooo upset because most of these items were to be for my sons 2nd birthday on the 1st of march and my mums birthday on the 6th of feb plus other birthday pressies for various friends etc. well to cut a long story short husband phoned amtrax who said "goods were sent by boots cheap free delivery so do not have to be signed for and only have to be left in a safe place, WELL OBVIOUSLY IT WAS NOT SAFE AS SOMEONE HAS STOLEN THEM. then phone boots who were of no use what so ever and told me that they would send out an items missing form.

by this time i am in tears decide to calm my nerves and go for a quick puff (trying to give up but when things like this happen it just gets too much), whilst in back garden there is a knock on the door and it is a community police officer, luckily a very observant neighbour noticed someone running into the garden taking parcels and shoving into car boot and driving off damn quick, they took the registration no and apparently they are common burgulars.

ALL I WANT IS MY STUFF AS IT WAS FOR MY LITTLE BOYS BIRTHDAY.

sorry to vent but i have to let my steam off somewhere.

i just cant belive it, my dad is in hospital at the mo, he had operation yesterday and was very poorly last night. so i could just do without this at the moment and feel like staying in bed all through 2008.

Can't really help but just wanted to give you a big *hug*

I hope your family members who are in hospital get better soon, the burglars can be caught and you can get some compensation/items back.

    :)
  • I am so sorry for you. Fingers crossed if the police know who did it you should have your goods returned to you.
I hope your Dad makes a good recovery.

most likely they were following the van.
we have often said at work you could follow some drivers around (for some companies)and just scoop a load of parcels up.
i doubt you will have any issues getting a refund as i very much doubt boots contract with company allows for leaving the package any old place

Unless you instructed Boots/Amtrak to leave the items in the shed in the eventuality that no-one was in, you shouldn't be out of pocket. You have not taken receipt of the goods so they should be replaced or refunded. I suspect that is why Boots are sending you a missing items form. It just may take a bit of time to resolve.

Hope your family get better soon!

Snap!!! my Boots order was delivered yesterday by Amtrak, but they left mine on the doorstep! I was out all morning and when I arrived home there was a note saying parcel in wendy house, I looked and nothing there (that was my littlewoods order) and then I checked the status of my boots order and was told they had delivered it yesterday and left it on the doorstep.

Hope your family are all better soon!
Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists
  • Thats awful. Do you know what delivery company they used?

Boots used Home Delivery Network for my order, which I never received. Ive wasted enough time moaning about HDNL on another thread so wont start now.

But if you explain your situation and tell boots that a refund isnt good enough due to the stress it has caused you (time it has taken for you to bother to order from them, no pressies etc) and ask politely for a gift voucher they may give it to you. This is what they did with me.

By that description, it sounds like somebody's following the van round and seeing where stuff's left.
  • Look on the bright side - they might nail the scum who took it.
