Cancellation of BT Broadband ?

Hello,

Im new to too this site so please bear with me. i ordered a bt line then at the same time i ordered BT Broadband Option 3 now i got the line activated with broadband on the 9th of january and now i dont need the internet any more so i phoned them and they said i would need to pay £70 admin charge plus the rest of the contract is there not some kind of cooling off period it or anyway around the charges.

Any advise would be a great help !!!

    How can there be any cooling off period after they have provided the service that you agreed that you wanted to provide? The fact that you "don't need the internet any more" has nothing to do with the contract that you agreed to.

  • looks like you could avoid the admin charge by just continuing the contract, but still an expensive mistake.
    hopefully drunkstar will come along with a better suggestion.

    I thought since eg. when you buy something in a shop you get a return period or like a mobile contract you have 14 days to change your mind. ??? or im i wrong ???

    As Espresso says you must of signed up to the contract and once its connected you must pay a fee to disconnect.. hope it was only the 12mth contract you signed up for...

    Biggest mistake of my life lol 18 months of paying for something i dont want lol. dont even have a pc anymore. lol

    Yeah the BB contract would have to be paid for. The 'admin' charge is actually £45 for the home hub and £40 for cancelling in term (or te other way around). Though cancelling the line itself would raise teh £70. Nothing can be done I am afraid, sorry.
