Well a good start to the week as two of my Amazon Marketplace items have sold already.
I'm also hoping for a no spend day, but it might not be as its 10.30 and I'm hungry already and I don't think my packed lunch will cover too much as I forgot my banana:(
Also all the walking is paying off, I can fit into my "skinny" work trousers, just a bit more and i'll be able to wear them and I won't have to buy any new ones. :T REALLY pleased about that one. :T0 -
Hello  just a quick thought, if you are looking at having new glasses then Glasses Direct are very cheap, very good and if you go through Quidco they'll give you 15% back into your account.
Also South West trains are doing huge discounts and piggy points on Pigsback...
BTW I'm just up the road from you, near Pontypridd
Have a good day
Sassers xx
Ooh and PS: you can buy a jar of white tea at supermarkets. Think its Tetley or something similar - you just add water to a tespoon of the tea. Ok not the same as real tea but perhaps easier and cheaper than buying milkCurrent debt and mortgage: £25, 820.35 Debt/Mortgage at start: £92,598 (27/09/2010)
DEBT FREE!0 -
Thanks for the tip about glasses direct - The thick designer frames suit me so that would probably save me some £££.
I've just had a look at SouthWest Trains and it looks like ordering tickets direct from FirstGreatWestern is still the cheapest way at the moment.0 -
I didn't have a no spend day... I ended up getting the Bus from the station I was so tired. I also had to buy a snack and a drink in work as I forgot to take a banana and some squash. I have remedied that for tomorrow.
I've sold two CDs on Amazon this evening, and bf has put up an old haynes manuel to get some money for treats.
Early night tonight as I have to be in work 30 mins early tomorrow.
Potentially earned about £6 on quidco today. Took advantage of the snapfish offer and got about 60 photos for 40p and then was £1.49 for p&p but get £5 cash back :T0 -
Today will be a No Spend Day unless its chucking it down in Cardiff then I'll have to get the bus home from the station - I've had my shoes soaked through once already today (been wandering around the office with socked feet!)
Bf has posted the amazon market place parcels so need to sit down and work out how much money I will have made.
Also been on Toluna today and got about 70000 points due to some sort of loop hole with the interest surveys. I've ordered a HMV e-voucher and a Sainbury's voucher. I hope they turn up.
Also quidco is past the £120 mark in things that have tracked - there should be at least £5 more to track soon. So far so good...0 -
Had a really crap day yesterday and most of it my own fault.
I got shortchanged by a £1 at the railway shop/cafe whilst buying a snack (forgot to check change)
I picked up the wrong size boxes of Special K in Tesco so I paid £4.78 for two 375g boxes instead of two 500g boxesfor £2.50 (I thought they were selved over the offer sticker - but wasn't paying too much attention.)
I have been charged £105 bank charges for being £20 over my overdraft for 21 days. My own fault as didn't check the account during the time I was moving, but paid the money in as soon as I got the letter in December. Then I had a letter saying this had been charged and when I phoned i was told it was my own fault for not checking the account online as I don't get paper statements. I will be writing a letter to the bank today asking for that back.
And I still haven't had the deposit back from my old flat and its 8 days until the 28 days is up.
Sorry for the moan but feeling really stupid and a bit down today - and its only Weds!0 -
Since I seem to have started using this thread as a diary I thought I would post this here as well as on the employment board to see if any of you wonderful peeps on here, who don't really look over thre might be able to help.
Where I work there has been a call for voluntary redundancies. I am quite keen to apply as I have been with my employer for over 2 years and I have just relocated so I am having to commute for 90 mins and feel ready for a new challenge in a new job and the cash would come in handy towards becoming Debt Free.
We have had some information about the redundancies, but having never gone through this before I'm quite naive about it and I'm not sure about the ins and outs. We have been told to apply to the Head of HR by email, but not much else.
Basically my question is do I have to discuss my decision with my line manager before I email the Head of HR?
I am not keen to do this as relations are a bit strained and I wouldn't want things to get worse if I didn't get redundancy and had to stay. My OH says that I should.
Any advice would be very helpful, thanks.0 -
Well I've done it, I've put in for voluntary redundancy. I did it last night and I feel a whole lot better. I've definitely got more motivation to start applying for jobs now.
I'm so glad its Friday, and it looks like it will be a No Spend weekend apart from things that have been budgeted for. I have enough Nectar Points to get two free cinema tickets. I think we'll be going to see "Sweeney Todd" which looks really good.
I had a letter from Halifax yesterday which said the interest on my Credit Card was going up  - but this has made me more determined to get them all paid off asap. I'm going to sit down this weekend and see how much money I should have left at the
End of the month for Car Tax and then to throw at the CCs0 -
Just popping in to say hi! Wales & rain go hand in hand I realised when I mved here! Been awful this week hasnt it! ANy news on the redundencies? Thanks for the reply In Search of Me.
I've applied for the redundancy so I've got to wait and see now. Will take about a month before I hear.
I work in the public sector, which I would like to continue doing. I work in research funding at the moment, but would like to move into something different.
I applied for a new CC which had a low apr for 3 years for balance transfers, but wasn't accpeted so I'm just going to concentrate on paying back on my current CCs.
I'm working on some job applications at the moment and I'm hoping for a dyer week next week. I did get some new trainers (half-price) so I should at least have dry feet walking to the station!0
