Capped Broadband packages - how do I find out my monthly usage

I'm thinking of changing from an unrestricted package to a restricted one so I need to know how much I'm currently downloading each month so I don't end up overpaying.
I used to have a program called "Net Traffic Meter" to do this but the current version doesn't seem to think I'm downloading or uploading anything

I suppose it depends on which ISP you go with, I think they pretty much all allow you to log into your account control panel and view your usage statistics. I'm with Plusnet and they have this facility for their capped and PAYG services.0

I use a program called netlimiter but I dont have a retsricted service mealy just to keep an eye on bandwidth and force restrictions on certain programs.
You will find though that any program wont be 100% accurate compared with what ISP's use, mealy use it as a guide. So I would give it a wide tolerance and also remember that some ISP's also count upload as well as download.
