thats awful.did you phone to complain?if so how did they respond?

Phoning got me no-where, so I complained via postwatch (independent postal complains company) and got a semi-sufficient answer, where the post man gave a poor excuse about not being able to find the door as it was a new build! (only 15 apartments, doors clearly labeled!). It didn't explain what happened to it all and what he did with the stuff he "couldn't" deliver!

Since then, that was when the driving license and a few more items have gone missing.

I'm not really sure that complaining is going to help any more. I'm more convinced someone at my local sorting office has light fingers...

Parcels now get sent to work, bills are sent electronically, and the rest i just have to keep an eye on.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

thats really bad. i dnt balme you sending parcles to work and bills electonically. RM as gone down hill loads.
  • "as for stealing information.do you think someone stealing information would put the item back in the mail system?"

Er, yes. An envelope containing my new credit card was opened, the card used for two fraudulent transactions, then it was resealed and delivered in the post.

I therefore knew nothing about the fraud until I received my statement, by which time the temporary worker at the sorting office who'd committed fraud with my card (and others) had left Royal Mail. Unfortunately for him, he was stupid enough to order items on the cards for delivery to his house, so the police caught him anyway.

Putting the item back into post means the victim is less likely to be aware that fraud has occurred, so yes, it does happen.

not at all but you seem to not realise that your postie has done all they can.
i see unsealed envelopes from big companies every day.
same goes if a machinew catches a raised flap on the envelope.
in either scenario there is little rm can do yet you seem to rule out both these scenarios and instead engage witchunt mode
had rm sent the item to the secure destruction dept you would be on whining they had lost your item
envelopes can even rip on rough edges on letterboxes.i have a customer who i leave cards for contstantly as they refuse to fix their letterbox so i cant (safely) deliver slightly oversize items.
yet they complain all the time about having to collect items

Look OP... your thread was entitled "Royal Mail please help"... custardy (who works for RM) has come along and given you the insiders perspective. Rather than type the above, a simple thanks would suffice and then you can choose to ignore his explanation if you wish!

As an aside, I don't know about you, but I would be glad to have someone working for a company that has a bit of company loyalty!? ;)

    :D
  • Why did it have on all your bank details? By bank details do you mean account number and sort code? Or card information?
