Hi
Just some quick advice. We went into travel agents to book to go to Florida next year. We are staying in Kissimmee and for 2 adults and 2 children in a hotel it is going to cost £2184.
This i think is a good price but the problem i have encountered after reading through various websites that have been linked to on this website i am not going at the best time. We are supposed to be going 1st July to the 15th July 2006. Is it really too busy? Has anyone done it before?
Thanks in advance

Yes...IMO the best times to go are, May, September and October (late) for Halloween all the parks have something on Universal being the best one.
July is just too hot and sticky with lots of rain and storms and you will spend more time queing than on the rides, It's cheaper the other times and you will never wait no longer than 30-40 minutes for a rideIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -
Sounds like a good price, my only concern is that Florida will be baking hot in early July. Americans tend to take holidays in Florida in spring & autumn and laugh at us Brits who go there in the middle of summer. You will love being there on 4th July though, even the tiniest town has a huge parade and fireworks display.
Edit: I'm not copying your comments saveapenny, we were just typing at the same time!0 -

Have you looked at doing a DIY holiday to Florida. Not sure what the savings are, with flights being expensive these days, but the quality of the villas in Orlando and the surrounds is excellent and you have a huge choice. We did it this route a few years back and would always choose diy over hotels in America now. http://www.holiday-rentals.com/index.cfm/property/3306.cfm I picked this site at random from google , but we stayed in Chatham Park and I can recommend it0

If you go as late as you can in August it is a lot less busy as the florida schools reopen in mid August, we went at the start of August for 3 weeks and towards the last week you could actually see the place was less busy.0

Thank you all for your help, brilliant. Since reading your comments about July being so busy and trying to go late august i have this morning completly changed the plans.
We are now going on the 26th August to Sept 9th with Direct Holidays and staying at Travelodge International Drive. Price for 2 adults and 2 children is £1964 plus £29 pp transfers from airport as we dont really want the car.
Total for holiday is now £2080 so saving money and going at a less busy time. Hopefully £2080 is a good price. Thank you all for your help0 -
I would say a car is extremely necessary for a holiday in Orlando0

Really? We have got free shuttles to and from the hotel to all the parks that we are going to visit so i did not really see the point but im happy for insight from you guys.0

there's a lot more to see than the parks. Kennedy Space Centre, Gulf Coast beaches, shopping malls, water parks and loads of other attractions. The theme parks are great, but you do need a break from them as they are exhausting.
some other opinios here, for and against http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=383960
