Is there a way to call o2 to cancel a contract via a free number? I want a new phone but the only tarrif I like is the simplicity one. Is it possible to move to this tarrif and receive a new phone seeing as I am a pay monthly customer? As part of a retention deal? Should I just leave?

You can call them free on 100, then choose the menu options that you want to leave, which puts you through to the Retentions team
Simplicity doesn't come with a phone, but you may be able to negotiate a discount on another contract that does have one. There's a long thread here about their retentions deals, which I haven't read for a while, but will give you an idea of current levels of offers, probably not as good as they used to be though.
If you want a high-spec phone I think you'll go with one of those deals, but you could get Simplicity and buy a modest one separately.0 -
100 is not the freephone number for o2 it is 202 (or 402 if u a select customer)
you cannot get a phone on a simplicity tariff, the tariff is that cheap as it doesn't have to subsidise the cost of a handset. there is no way at all you will get a new handset on a simplicity tariff as the system will physically not let a simplicity tariff go on an account if an upgrade handset has been orderedThe only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about - Oscar Wilde:beer:
