Snake oil, I'm afraid. This is nothing more than an overpriced extension lead.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

This is a good bit of kit, not just an overpriced extension lead :rotfl:0

It's a genuine bit of snake oil. It does nothing useful apart from exploit the power of persuasion. This is a moneysaving site, and I'm simply warning people not to waste their money on this.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

If it is snake oil it is much cheaper than anyone else is selling this snake oil for. Then we get into the overpriced speaker cables, interconnects............
Thanks poster, bought 2.0 -
This has been posted on a lot of forums!!!
This is a mis-price as it's around £125+ everwhere else. £169.99 at Argos for example.
I can't see these turning up.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
I have received my order confirmation; just have to wait and see what happens.0

This was £9.96 including delivery on Tuesday, and they were sending order confirmations out for that price. It will ship.0

By claiming 'snake oil', one leaves open the following possibilities:
1) You have an unusually good mains supply
2) You have never used one
3) You have never used one with anything other than inexpensive, low quality kit
4) You dont know what to look or listen for
Most making such claims fall into category (2). In this scenario, one can make judgement solely on technical and theoretical grounds. Such an analysis (assuming you have the slightest idea what you are talking about) should clearly lead to the conclusion that there is a theoretical gain by using one of these devices, though YMMV depending upon other factors (i.e. mains supply, quality of equipment). Connect up an oscilloscope and it would be immediately obvious.
To doubt outright basically implies ignorance. If you have a decent system and are not daft enough to expect a night and day improvement, this device offers excellent value. If you like listening to music with the 'bass boost' applied or believe that setting the contrast and color on your tv at max, then you would be wasting your money.
FYI, I bought 3 to cover my whole system.2 + 2 = 4
except for the general public when it can mean whatever they want it to.0 -
A poster on hukd says that this is the european model and accepts 2 pin plugs only. Can anyone here confirm this?
I'm currently waiting for a call from Belkin to confirm either way.0 -
Thanks to Splender on HUKD.
This model being sold is one for the German market AP20500ea3M This means that you will have to change all your plugs in UK to make use of this unit. So if you bought some stuff under manufacturer's warranty you are not going to cut over off the UK plug and void your warranty. However it is still worth having it for some appliances where you have very noisy electrics at home especially if you have the PC type power plug which you can swap over easily. Most good appliances have pretty good power circuit to filter and clean the electric supply anyway so the effect for vast majority of people will be minimal. It means another box in the living space for minimal gain for 99% of people. Alternatively spend £20 or so for a standard Belkin SurgeMaster to replace your sockets.
This is the German manual for this model http://www.belkin.com/de/support/art...p20500ea3m.pdf
On page 5 it clearly shows the round pin Euro sockets.
